Just a few of the best spots to surf

The Best Spots to Surf in Hawaii

Our first stop will be in O’ahu where you’ll find a vast stretch of beach and perfect shoreline in Waikiki. The curve of the waves and their breaks make it easy enough for beginning surfers all the way up to the expert. You can’t beat the warm inviting water with its illuminating blueness and the chance to ride the waves that seem to go on for forever. You can’t go wrong with 20 ft. enormous waves that give a thrill of a lifetime. Surfing here is great year round, but the “mecca” waves are usually seen in the winter from November to February. Beware that these waves are geared towards the serious expert surfer who has the need for the perfect wave. This is also the season when the surfing contests are held by the top names in surfing. Though winter brings in the “perfect” waves, summer also has its great waves that are inviting to all surfers. Take a ride around to the “North Shore” and head to Turtle Bay and check out Sunset Beach and see the Banzai Pipeline for those surfers who are more experienced to ride the incredible waves.  There is surfing for all levels on O’ahu and you can’t beat the incredible beaches and pristine waters.

Next is Kauai which is said to be the most beautiful island with its lush foliage and incredible sandy beaches. Head to the South side of Kauai and check out Kuhio Shores where waves reach from three to fifteen feet. There are numerous surf spots in Kuhio for the experienced to novice surfer. The first four spots are geared toward the seasoned surfer and they boast incredible swells, they are Acid Drops, Centers, PKs, and Pakalas where a lot of the locals come to surf. The next spots offer a little more variety for all levels and they are Longhouse, Cow’s Head, First Break, and Waiohai. It is said that the best surfing here is from May to October.

On the North Shore of Kauai you’ll find great surfing in Hanalei Bay where the swells are big and full of speed. For those surfers who are more experienced and are looking for something big, then Hanalei Bay is where you want to surf it up. The best surf here is from November to April.

Check out Hookipa in Paia, Maui for consistent waves with some pretty good swells. Be prepared to ride hard. It does get windy here so make sure to go early in the morning or late afternoon. Once your done make sure to go and walk through Paia, it’s a great place and very quaint.

Head over to Honolua which is on the West Shore of Maui. Here you can try to catch the wave from a right peel and if you can catch it then it was worth it. The crowd can get thick here so just enjoy catching that one incredible wave and have a blast.
